Epocheia -II-

[Sparrow]

The boy tilts his head and makes a clicking sound. He hops off the bus in a cat-like manner and lands next to her. Snippers jumps to face him. Both stare each other out for a long moment without doing anything.

[Doom]

"Snippers! Be polite!" Detria shatters the tension by snatching up Snippers and avidly knocking on the door.

[Sparrow]

"Who is it?" Sparrow and Steve ask in unison.
The boy stands, though somewhat off kilter, next to Detria.
Snippers watches the boy out of the corner of its eye.

[Doom]

"Don't be afraid! I just want to let my friend inside!" She knocks again, a bit impatient.

[Sparrow]

"... You're friend?" Steve asks cautiously.
There is a bit of muttered conversation before the door opens.
"Who are you talking ab-" Sparrow freezes after spotting the boy.
The boy glares at her and and Steve who stands frozen behind her.

[Doom]

"I don't know who he is, for he is unable to speak. However, he's friendly. Don't be shy." She gave him a slight nudge to walk inside.

[Sparrow]

The boy, upon being nudged, quickly enters the bus. He goes to the very back and looks around curiously. Sparrow and Steve stay frozen in place, only side glancing to the boy. The orb opens its lens and follows the boy to the back, keeping a few feet away for distance.
Sparrow and Steve watch the boy with extreme caution. Snippers jumps back into the bus and turns to the boy, but stays a far distance.

[Doom]

Detria got inside and promptly sat beside the boy. She giggled, and said, "Let's not be rude. Why do you act so afraid around this one? He's harmless." She glared at Snippers, and motioned for him to come closer.

[Sparrow]

Snippers runs over and hops up onto the seat next to her. It glares at the boy, not taking the look anywhere else. The boy sits on the seat in a crouched manner -think L-.
Sparrow glances over,
"D....Do you happen to know that..... that boy is a zombie?" she asks weakly, not wanting to raise her voice too high.
"Not only that.... That one is a scout. I've seen him before." Steve adds in a whisper.

[Doom]

"Now, now. Why discriminate? He's behaving in a civilized manner. Calmly sitting next to me. No aggression. I don't really care if he is a zombie. He's my friend." Detria patted the boys shoulder.

[Sparrow]

The boy looks over to her cautiously. Snippers keeps an eye on him.
Sparrow and Steve mutter in hushed conversation.
"Well.... If you're sure..." Sparrow says cautiously.
"He does seem non-hostile.... Do you think?..."
What?"
"Maybe he's built some type of immunity to the rage strain of the illness?"
"....Perhaps..."
They watch the boy warily, Sparrow takes a seat, Steve returns to driving the bus.

[Doom]

"Excellent! We're on our way!" Detria sets Snippers onto the floor and attempts to have a conversation with the boy. "Now, what do you like to do, young one?" She was perfectly calm, but took note of Sparrow's and Steve's concern.

[Sparrow]

Snippers stays on the ground but watches cautiously.
The boy tilts his head, staring at a wall of the bus. After being spoken to, he looks back to Detria and tilts his head in the opposite direction. He makes a small throaty clicking sound for a moment, but besides that stays silent.

[Doom]

Detria was blanked faced for a moment, then she shook her head, and said, "That's nice." She cleared her throat, then asked Sparrow, "So, how far are we from the city?"

[Sparrow]

"A few miles. It shouldn't be too long now..." she says keeping her voice down.
The boy looks off to the side again.
