Epocheia -II-

[Sparrow]

I messed up and had to time laps, once the time laps is past I'll use this board for technology, news, etc.

[Sparrow]

"That would be the pollen. It's the boarder to Epocheia." Sparrow explains.
'Whatever you do, don't touch any water bare handed if you can avoid it." Steve says after a moment.
Sparrow gets up and walks to the front of the ship, she removes items from a box under a seat, then brings them back.
"Here, these will help keep you safe." Sparrow says, handing her a respirator mask and goggles that seal debris out.

[Doom]

Detria set her notebook down and took out the respirator. She assumed it was meant to help her breathe safely in this toxic atmosphere, so she strapped it on, and began to breathe shallowly into it. Then, she grabbed the goggles and concluded they resembled glasses, which she was familiar with, and assumed it was for eye protection, so she put them on as well. She asked, her voice muffled, "When do we exit the vehicle?"

[Sparrow]

"As soon as area scans are finished." Sparrow says kindly.
The ship weaves through a series of nets that form something like a maze. Not to long after the ship surfaces. They are ruffly 300 yards from shore. The island is surrounded by a hazy red mist and appears dark and foreboding. The sky is overcast is dark red, looking like a storm my come soon. The water is choppy, adding evidence to a coming storm. The island is extremely large and jungles appear to be the bulk of it. The shoreline is red, do to the sands color. The ship sways side to side, moving towards shore.

[Doom]

Detria examined the skies, amazed, and said, "No to be rude, but why do you live in such a place? Why not leave? Find a new home. One less.... Toxic?"

[Sparrow]

Sparrow shrugs.
"Even if we all leave, we'll still be infected with the illness. The plant grows commonly throughout the island, so it's easy to gather for study. Plus the whole toxic atmosphere thing keeps spies and other enemies away for the most part." she explains.
Steve nods in agreement.
The ship reaches and crawls onto the shore using its oars. A screen pops out the side of it and begins scanning the area, passing a red bar of light over the landscape.

[Doom]

"For safety, is it? Seems a little extreme to be living here, but I think I understand why you stay." Detria was mesmerized by the dark red skies and bloody clouds. Just then, she looks to the vegetation growing further inward. She thinks she sees it rustle, and she turns to Sparrow, shouting, "Did you see that? The bushes! They moved!"

[Sparrow]

"Did they?" Sparrow asks and looks out the stated window.
She sees the bushes shake as well.
"Your right."
Steve looks as well,
"What do you think it is?" he asks calmly.
Sparrow shrugs.
The scanner runs over the bush the stops over it, then scans several times to detect what it is.

[Doom]

Detria's fear was palpable, even if she wasn't as scared to meet whatever beast dwell here as she appeared. "Can you see what it is?"

[Sparrow]

"Please be a peacock..." Sparrow mutters, crossing her fingers.
After a few minutes of scanning the scanner reads:
"Inconclusive."
".... Odd. I don't think I've ever seen that before..." Steve says.
The bushes shake again, stronger this time, as a strangely rabbit like animal rolls out of the bush. Its tail is long and zigzags into a spiral, its ears do the same. Its short fur looks soft, and is vibrantly colored with reds, purples, and yellows. It has large back feet and short stubby front arms. It blinks, looking up at the ship with its large doe eyes. It stands on it's hind legs and tilts its head to the side, bending most of its body with it.
"Mook?" it chirps.
"....What is.... that?" Steve mutters, starring at the strange rabbit.
"I.... don't know. I've never seen one of those before." Sparrow says after a moment, tilting her head to it.

[Doom]

Detria's fear was replaced with joy when she looked out the window. "That has to be the cutest creation of Xefos in the entire world!" She grabbed her notebook and began to feverishly doodle the creature's face. "We have to take this creature to the city! It is so adorable!"

[Sparrow]

"It would be interesting to capture it and see if anyone knows what it is..." Sparrow says in a thoughtful tone.
"Agreed. If it's a new undiscovered species that would be amazing." Steve says watching the....rabbit?
Text appears on the orb,
"I'll put the command forward."
The scanner retracts back into the ship, a net cannon replaces it.
The creature tilts it's head to the opposite side.
"Coo. Mac, mac coo?" it chirps.
The cannon launches a net that drapes over it.
The creature gets a surprised expression with its eyes wide, then sits. It stays quiet for a moment the chips happily,
"Loo."
It waves its stubby arms in gleefully display.
"Awwww. It's so cute." Sparrow says happily.
Steve smiles at the creatures strange reaction.
The door unseals and the ramp drops down, allowing them to exit.

[Doom]

Detria dashes in front of them and runs to the creature. "I'm going to call you Snippers! You shall now be known as Snippers from now on!" She bends down and hugs the animal tightly.

[Sparrow]

"Awww, cute name is cute." Sparrow says while exiting.
"Indeed." Steve says, following.
Snippers remains silent when picked up and hugged. It looks to Detria and blinks a few times.
"Mook, moo. Moo coo loo. Loo?"
It tilts its head, and uses its tiny arms to return the hug.

[Doom]

Detria laughed, overjoyed by this little creature. "I have no idea what you're saying, but you're so cute!!!!" Detria's excitement may have been unusual, but it was incredibly real. She usually faked enthusiasm, but Snippers easily brought out a side of her she tended to keep hidden. She paraded back onto the ship, Snippers held tight in her arms.
