Steve shot Jack a quizzical look, then glanced in the direction he stared off into. Freddy, now dressed, said, "He's probably caught a vehicle a good distance away. Nothing else would catch his senses like that." Steven glanced to Freddy, then removed a pair of binoculars from his pack. He scanned the trees, then sighed, looking up at Jack. "The trees block all view from the ground.....mind, uh, giving me a lift?"

Jack tilts his head at Steven’s request. After a moment and deciding he wanted to know what was coming, and seeing as Steven had the best and only idea to offer, he nods. Carefully he picks him up under the arms by using his human arms. After getting a good enough grip he starts climbing up between three trees, using his spider arms. It doesn’t take long to hit a clear patch in the canopy. All the while Jack continues to stare in the direction of the vehicle, only moving his head to follow the source of sound.

Tensing as Jack lifted him, Steven exhaled slowly, trying hard not to tremble. He lifted the binoculars and followed Jack's gaze, spotting an indistinguishable figure rocketing around on an ATV. "Uh-oh...." He mumbled. "We're gonna have company! We best get moving immediately, or else they'll find us." He replaced the binoculars in his pack and waited for Jack to move back through the canopy.

Jack climbs down until about ten feet from the ground before dropping. He’s sure to keep Steve well away from hitting the ground on the landing. A bank of snow softens the landing. Once on the ground he carefully places Steven down.

John was born in Alaska. Being raised in Alaska and hunting for your own food teaches someone some valuable skills. Such as, the powers of observation. When Jack and Steven went down, landing on a bank of snow kicked plenty of the white powder up. Though they had been a bit of a distance away John hit the breaks regardless, skidding his ATV to a halt, and watched in the general area. He wasn't entirely sure if something had fallen or not, but one doesn't survive by being careless. John turned the key to the ATV to off, pocketed the key, and began to undo the Winchester. The Pump-action, .12 gauge shotgun was as long as a rifle, and filled with close-quarter buckshot. Holding 4 shells, one in the chamber, he pocketed about 20 more shells. John moved off the road, to the side that Jack and Steven were on. He didn't move on, but instead got behind some low-lying trees and bushes. He wanted to make sure this wasn't some, wild goose chase that ended up being a bear or something. As the adrenaline began to surge through John, a subtle smile overcame him. "Just like huntin' when I was a kid." he said silently, pumping the shotgun.

Jack picked up on the click off the weapon as easily as he had the ATV. It was a sound that caused him to flinch and immediately stare in the direction of the source. He wasn't sure what it was. But the fact the previous sound had stopped, only to be replaced by this one put him on edge. In reaction he moves lower to the ground and folds his spider limbs up to make his appearance smaller and hopefully less noticeable. He now matches average height as he is standing as a normal person would. All the while he keeps himself as deathly quiet as possible.

A less experienced man may not have seen the small shadow, contrasting the powdery snow, but John saw it. He noted the distance between the him and the figure, his shotgun lacking such range. However, the more important question was, was this one of the charges that he was hired to capture? He remembered the breifer's words, that you could tell they didn't belong. He got down to his chest and pulled out a pair of binoculars. This did nothing, as it was too dark to see. "Damn!" he cursed. Nothing to do about it. It was just that time of the month. Absolute darkness for about a whole month. They don't call it the Month of the Black Sun for nothing. John slowly began to crawl to his prey.

Jack picked up on John's curse. He stared with a tilted head in his direction. Now knowing it's source to be from a human. But what kind of human? A random local, unlikely. An agent, probably. He hisses barely audibly before side stepping his way towards a cluster of trees. His goal was to get some cover so he could work his way into the tree line. But spotting the mystery person was a secondary goal.

Steven, trudging through the snow, glanced to Freddy and Drakaron. He pointed at Drakaron, then in the direction John approached from. He tossed his binoculars to Drakaron, then drew his pistol, readying it with a silencer.

Drakaron catches the binoculars a slight grin appearing on his face. He began thinking and decided that that since it was night he could chance shadow dashing behind him and subduing him. But the direct path would be stupid. He passed into the nigh floor as he swam around through the Alaskan floor. He saw some rope on the nearby ATV, grabbed it, and began his slow shadow creep toward the assailant.

John was not happy. Not only did the snow begin to melt under him, the water seeping through his coat, the figure seemed to dissapper. "Nothin' ever goes my way." gumbled John. He messed around with the shotgun on his back, trying to get it to a comfortable postion, when a thought passed. 'What exactly am I chasin' down? The handler just happened to leave that important tid-bit of information out.' He disregarded the thought and kept on crawling.

By now Jack had reached the cluster of trees and began his climb up. He attempts to stay as quiet as possible, but naturally a twig or two snaps on his way up. To avoid a blind shot, if the mystery person had a distance weapon, he tries to keep covers by the trees to have a natural shield.

Taking cover amongst the trees, Freddy and Steven watched with stilled breath. Although the figure was difficult to spot in the dark, Steven had a good idea of how far he would need to throw in order for his weapon to have any affect. Removing a flashbang from his belt, he primed it and gave a gentle toss. It landed squarely to the side of the flattened figure, and went off with a tremendous sonic explosion. Steven rushed to the figure without stopping to determine how effective the stun was.

Even if John had been wearing eye protection, the sound blast from the flash-bang would have done it's job sufficiently. After the blinding explosion, and the deafening blast, John shot up, shotgun clutched in his arms. One thing he knew he could rely on was the shotgun not needing to be aimed. "Dammit all! Who the hell threw that?!" he yelled. Of course, along with deafness and blindness also came dizziness along with the ride. He fell over, stumbling on his feet, shotgun landing in the snow and discharging, pellets impacting themselves to a nearby tree.

Steven, chuckling as he walked up to the felled agent, snatched up the shotgun and bashed it against a tree, effectively making it...ineffective. Approaching the hysterical John, Steven hopped lightly and landed on John's wrists, pinning him with his knees.
