Thirty years after the original Kira case the world seems to be returning, though some are still scared to commit crime out of fear of Kira. Though this isn't a large impact on the once again increasing rate of crime in the world. But if you look close you can still see the scars left from Kira. The religion of Kiraism is spreading rampantly and their demonstrations are beginning to get out of hand, them performing self mutilation and harming their congregation to make sacrifices to their god. But then criminals start to die again, at a rapid pace and it is extremely noticeable, them all being heart attacks. After the years of so called peace the killing start again. But with the doubt in Wammy house's best being the only investigator, Near has put together a team of eight of Wammy's top past and current students. But will it being enough? Knowing that here may be more than one Kira out there?
