Ice Cream Shop

"Yeah," Kat muttered. She bit her tongue to keep from snapping about that not being a good situation. Like he said, it was the best, even if it wasn't good.

Blue sat alone in the ice cream shop, almost unrecognizeable. She'd used her makeup again, just a few lines over her eyes to change her appearence. The top of Sevens jacket was sticking up rather than laying flat so she could protect her identity. Her hair was in a pionytail using an elastic band she'd found on the street. She was facing away from the window.
'Thank heaven Seven was smarter than I am' she thought. 'If he hadn't been carrying $20 in his pocket...' she then cut herself off sharply 'don't think about Seven. You don't want your makeup to run.'
She was only here because she was waiting. She knew Kat and Rhyme liked to go on dates here, and though she'd like to tell ANYONE other than Kat about this, she could no longer go to Whammy House. It wasn't safe.

Blue sighed. nShe'd been waiting hours, and Kat and Rhyme had not come. She decided there wwas nothing else for it. She'd have to implement her secound, far riskier plan. Getting up, she left some change on the counter, deliberatley a dollar short, but she gave mostly quarters and dimes, so no one would notice until they counted. Then she left before she could be called on it.

Blue had spent the night on the streets, going inside for only two things. The first was into a store to buy new makeup and sunglasses. She needed to change her appearence or Sai or Kira would recognize her. Teale no longer called her sister Circles in her head. Circles was the innocent scared little girl who'd run away from the orphanage years ago, not the sadistic Kira-supporter who'd come to take her place.
Teale had bought makeup to make herself look darker, mascara, dark toner and dark red lipstick along with her black sunglasses and Stephens leather jacket combined to make her look more like a spy or assasin from a movie than a person you'd find on the street. The other time was when she'd gone back to the Warehouse to go through Sevens body for anything she could sell, biting back tears and working systematically the whole time. She'd found a lame 5$ plastic watch and a small trinket he'd bought off the internet.

She thought about it, but she couldn't think of anywhere but back to the ice cream shop the other Wammy's might visit except Kanimari Street, and that was way to close to Sai's. So with the sunglasses over her eyes and her hair in the same ponytail, she sat there sipping a sundae, hoping Kat and Rhyme would show up for another date, or better, Velvet randomly showed up.

"Just keep walking," Yami said but after a few more minutes she stopped and said "Wanna stop here first?" she pointed at the ice cream shop, she hadn't had anything sweet in a long time."

"Absolutely!" exclaimed Rhyme. He ran into the ice cream parlor, and breathed in the sweet, slightly frigid air. He walked up to the counter, and ordered mint chocolate chip. Rhyme was licking at it before he knew it, daydreaming about his 'date' here with Kat.

[Sar]

Yami walked up to the counter and the man smiled at her. She simply said "Strawberry," and the man started making her's. Not only was there strawberry ice cream, but syrup, fruit, and everything else in to parlor that was strawberry flavored. She took her treat and sat down at a table motioning for Rhyme to follow.

Rhyme slid into a seat opposite Yami, and nommed happily on his ice cream. If he had a choice, he would eat ice cream all day, every day, for the rest of his life. He particularly liked mint chocolate chip because of the light greenish color, almost like camouflage.

"Mmm," he murmured dreamily.

Blue kept her facial expression controlled and nuetral, but lowered her sunglasses just a tad to be sure she was seeing what she thought she was seeing. Rhyme had just walked in, WITHOUT Kat! In fact, he was with Blue's old roommate! Wait were these two an item now? Did Rhyme break up with Kat? If so, he'd be a lot less likely to let it slip to Kat she was still alive. Then again... it also made Kat more likely to help Sai....

Suddenly, Teale remembered something. It was one of her conversations with Yami, but her mind was playing that annying trick on her again where it swapped words out when she had to remember something.
She was remembering her first conversation with Yami, Right when Seven had left the room out of anger. "Um... I can tell this will be difficult," Yami had started. "But I will try not to bother you and get out of here as fast as I can and if you ever need me out of here just tell me."
That was what the true event had been, word for word. But Teale's mind was swapping the last few words out, and reciting something in Teales own voice. "But I will try not to bother you and get out of here as fast as I can and I think you're the one who should leave,"
When had Teale said that. And what did it have to do with Yami? Teale squeezed her eyes shut, trying to force herself to remember.
Suddenly a picture of her fathers house came to her. Her father was angry, he had just said something about them leaving. She remembered stepping in front of the anonomous girl who, along with Kat and Sai, had come to her rescue.
It had been Yami. That girl was Yami. Teale rememberedHer father saying "This isn't over,". She remembered how they'd stuck up for her, how Yami had been the very one who initally saved her life, stopping her father from choking her.
Teales father had killled Yami's parents.
And Yami had saved her life.

Teale now suddenly remembered she'd already figured this out forever ago but forgot about it, but didn't care. She may not know Yami to well but she proved one thing: Yami was someone you could trust with your life. And Teale already trusted Rhyme. Didn't like him, didn't trust his girlfriend, but trusted him.

Fully prepared to reveal her identity, she waited for Yami to sit down before speaking.

Yami sat down with what some might refer to as a strawberry over load. she looked at Rhyme and then said "Happy memories of this place?"

"Yami, Rhyme, I'm in the table behind you. Don't draw attention to yourselves." SHe hissed then had a thought. There was one easy way to tell Rhyme who she was without revealing her identity to anyone who might be listening. "And please, Rhyme, could you get the colour right this time?" If the looked back, they would see her with a knowing smile, though she was apparently checking the cheap watch on her wrist.

"Yeah... I loved coming to this place with Ka--"

As soon as Blue spoke, Rhyme stopped. He instinctively turned around, and was about to burst into a flurry of hugs and happiness when she added not to draw attention. Rhyme turned back to his table, closed his eyes, and bit hard into his lip. As much as he didn't like her, the death of anyone was a shock, and coming back from the dead was more shocking.

Finally, he said, "It's good to hear you breathing, Blue... Just, how are you still alive?"

"No idea, But I'm the only one. Sai cornered us and found both of our names, and Seven -Stephen- didn't make it. And yes, Sai is Kira, I saw his face, and the Death Note, my testimony will be as good as anything. But thats not what I've been stalking this place for the last two days to talk to you about," She sighed. "You know my sister who ran away from Wammy House? She's back, and she's helping Sai. It's her who tricked our names out of both of us. And don't tell Kat. I'm trusting you two with my life here, if Kat tells Sai, or if Circles hears that I'm still activley working on this despite being on the run, I'm dead,"

Rhyme turned back around in his chair to face Blue. "She's the little girl, right?" he asked. "I think she moved into your room... Don't worry, I won't tell Kat," he added. Rhyme shifted uncomfortably in his seat. The last thing he did to Seven was give him the finger... That wasn't an image he wanted him to take to the grave. He sighed.

"We need to stop Sai," said Rhyme.

"Definatley," she said. "and she moved into my room? Thats not good.. she's an inventor, but she was taught a little about computers from Seven. Shes skilled enough to make a Virus to wipe out all of the files, which, if applied to Sevens computer, could erase all evidence we have against Sai, including yours and Kats conversation which, other than my testimony, is the only solid piece of evidence we have. I'm not sure if I can be much help, since I cant obviously not go back to Wammy's, but I'll be doing my own investigating outside and I'll be here every Tuesday if you need to talk to me," She stood up. "I have eyes on me, I ripped this place off yesterday, if asked, some one will remember us having this conversation. If you guys want to continue we should step outside," she went up to the counter, payed the correct amount of change, and Left, standing behind a pillar, waiting to see if Rhyme and Yami would follow her out.
