Ice Cream Shop

[FoxTrott]

Rhyme cocked his head. "What's up?" he questioned softly, eager to hear what the something was.

[Raven]

"Well, I'm not sure how far Blue and Seven are going to go. No more talking about Sai or Kira like we know they're the same person. I know Blue has been spying on me and with Seven's help, she'll probably be a lot more successful," Kat told him.

[FoxTrott]

"Gotcha," Rhyme said with a nod. He stood up after finishing his ice cream, and realized moments too late that Kat may have wanted the last bit.

"So, should we head back, then?" Rhyme stood up, and motioned towards the door.

[Raven]

"Yeah," Kat murmured. She hoped she was wrong about all this, but she was sure she wasn't.

[FoxTrott]

After a few moments of consideration, Rhyme put his arm around Kat's shoulder, and held her close.

"Let's go back to Wammy's House."

[Raven]

Kat nodded, then put her arm around his waist. They walked out of the shop and continued to Wammy's House together.

[FoxTrott]

Rhyme had ran ahead, excited to get to the ice cream. When Kat walked into the shop, he was holding a double-scoop strawberry cone, and anxiously waiting at a table.

"So," he began slowly, "how'd it go... The visit to your boyfriend's, I mean." He paused. "Ex-boyfriend's? Sai's? Whatever we're going to call him." Rhyme leaned closer, careful to avoid getting ice cream on his shirt--again. "You really think he's being controlled by the notebook?"

[Raven]

Kat paled, supposedly because she was scared of the death note, but really because she wondered what would happen when Sai didn't die. She was lying for him again. Then she got an idea. Sai had to be gone in about 20 days. Not dead, gone.

[FoxTrott]

"Are you okay?" Rhyme asked, cocking his head, "You don't look too good, Kat... What's wrong?"

After a moment, he added, "Can I call you Kitty? It just flows better than Kat."

[Raven]

Kat attempted to smile. "Sure... You could call me Katia, you know... And it's just... If I'm right, Sai's dead, and if I'm not, he's Kira. It's a loose-loose situation..." She sighed.

[FoxTrott]

Rhyme held out the ice cream cone for Kat to take. "You'll get through it, Kitty," he said comfortingly, "Either way, you're going to come out of it alive and well; it not, at least alive and breathing." He leaned forward, and licked the ice cream again.

[Raven]

Katia nodded morosely. "Yeah..." She liked the ice cream thoughtfully. Then she grinned. "I don't know what it is about being here, but I seem to need to use the restroom again. I'll be right back," she told Rhyme.

Much like the last time, Kat leaned against the wall, pulled out her phone, and called Sai.

[Dokeshi]

Sai looked away fromthe shinigami turned around and picked up his phone after looking at the caller I.D. he immidiately started talking," I knew you were in danger...I just got an e-mail that said you should watch out for surveilence."

[Raven]

"What do you... Me? In... Wait, an email?!" Katia spluttered. Finally she managed to ask a coherent question. "Sai, there's no time for you to explain; I have to explain things to you. Firstly, I'm not in danger. There are definitely people who are annoyed with me, but they can't do anything for 25 days. Then they can only do something if you're still around. I told them you didn't have the death note and that I think you're being controlled by it. However, if that were true, you would die in under 25 days. That's why I called; not for you to bail me out. If you aren't gone in 25 days, they'll search your house. When - that is if - they find the note book, we'll both be put in jail. Well, prison, actually," she told him.

[Dokeshi]

He nodded to himself again and then replied to her," Okay...I'll dissapear then, for your sake."
