Yami walked forward down the street, continuing in her conversations but suddenly came to a stop. In front of them was an abandoned church. After this town had suffered from an economic downfall years before on the south side of town there were many abandoned building, like a ghost town in this side of town. The doors where boarded up but Yami brought Rhyme with her to a window where she opened it and slipped in side, pulling him so he would come in with.

Rhyme hesitated once they came to the abandoned church. It was probably just him, but there was something creepy about it. He was reminded of the original Kira's aspiration to attain godhood; if he had succeeded, would churches like these be turned into Kira shrines? Shuddering, he followed Yami inside, carefully avoiding any sharp corners or broken boards.

Yami let out a breath and said "I found this place while I was on a run," Above then was a large crucifix, still standing after years of abuse. This place always seems to help me think. She walked forward to stand at the alter, she went down on one kneal quickly, then back up, and made the cross with her hand, though no one was there that would make her do so. She waited for Rhyme to follow her up there.

Rhyme shivered, and waited for Yami to finish her whatever she was doing. He looked up at the large crucifix, wary of what the cobwebs hid. He put his hands in his pockets, and followed Yami closely.
"It helps you think?" he repeated softly, "Gosh, I couldn't sleep in this place, let alone think..." A small spider slid down its web in front of Rhyme. He started, and swatted it away.

"It's like a place a visited when I was little," She looked around and said "Look passed the cobwebs and through the dust. Imagine vivid colors instead of the faded cloth," She closed her eyes and then opened them. In her mind it all appeared to be a church in it's prime years. Everything shined and cleaned to perfection. Outside you could start to hear rain starting to fall, something she ignored before but now just sounded beautiful. In her mind there was music. She walked closer to Rhyme and said "There's a storm, we should stay here for a while," she walked closer to Rhyme. This entire time her voice was no act, what she said was real, no acting, just her.

Rhyme looked up at the scenery, closing his eyes and imagining it as Yami described. He pictured colorful stained glass, glowing beams of sunlight shining through it, a faint glow of color on the ground. Scenes seen only in pictures and movies, considering he had never been to anything remotely resembling a church in his life. He felt... close.
When he opened his eyes, he discovered he was close--to Yami. He looked down at her, finally hearing the rain outside. ".... Yeah," Rhyme agreed.

Yami moved closer and continued to be close until she was right there. That was when she kissed him but quickly looked away to anything that would keep her eyes away from him.

Rhyme blinked. Did she just...? He looked at Yami. The way she avoided looking at him... Yes, she did.
And Rhyme was quite all right with that.
"I hope this isn't an act," he said softly.

She looked up, finally able to make eye contact. "I never act unless their is an audience," she said "Perhaps my feelings have blinded me but this be another reason a chose you, though, I hope it is not a mistake for be to move so quickly,"

Rhyme smiled softly. "It's fine," he said. He couldn't help but feel uncomfortable; he hadn't officially broken up with Kat, but her avoiding him seemed to do it. Rhyme bit his lip. She still likes Sai, he reminded himself, looking straight at Yami, She likes him more than me. I've got to let go of Kaitlynn...
She's already let go of Reagan.
Rhyme stepped closer to Yami, and laid a hand on her shoulder. "If it is a mistake," he said, "it's a good one."

Yami looked up and said "I guess it is a mistake that I am willing to make," Here eyes met his and the moment just seemed magical, the rain falling outside yet the two of them together, nothing ever to split them apart.

(( Awwwww~ ))
"Not all mistakes are bad, you know..."
Rhyme embraced Yami.
"Some turn out pretty good, like this..."

Her head rested on his shoulder. She let in a breath but then let go and said "The rain doesn't seem to want to stop any time soon, should we just walk home or stay here?"She asked

Rhyme glanced outside, listening to the pouring rain. "We should probably head back," he said, hesitantly, "This is wonderful and all, but I'd rather not spend the day inside of an abandoned church, however glorious it was before." He laughed. It was the first real laugh he had had in a while.

Yami smiled and said "Of course," she started to walk out when she stopped and said "I'm sorry if I act out there," she sighed and said "It's this case, if anyone sees any kinda of relation..." she trailed off "Everything we know is going to start to change, the case will twist us till we break," She looked into his eyes "you sure you still want to do this?"
