Circles nodded and sat down at the computer, her hands shaking badly as she opened folder after folder. The Doccuments folder, the Pictures folder, The Links and Videos and Downloads folders, it was all empty. the computer didn't connect to the internet. Heck, there wasn't even Microsoft Word on it anymore. "I-i-it must be s-some sort of v-v-virus." she said tearfully.

"Wonderful. Now if you would stop being so goddamn loud and dramatic, I'd like to go take a nap." Kat said the first word in a sarcastic manner. She stalked towards the door, and as she was leaving muttered, "Damn kids." She was deliberately putting fuel on the fire.

She resisted the urge to punch Kat in the bacvk of the head as Kat walked out. Instead she grabbed a couple quarrters to go phone her roomie in LA and set off to Kanimari streeet.

Rhyme loitered about the halls, carrying a bowl of sugary cereal. He was currently picking out the bits of cereal and throwing them on the ground, leaving just the marshmallows. He was bored. Yami was out, Kat was nowhere to be found, Blue was probably at the ice cream shop, Velvet was--ice cream shop. Deciding his case with Yami could wait, Rhyme emptied the marshmallows into his mouth, and was about to wander outside when he realized he still had the bowl. He needed to get rid of the evidence somehow, but the kitchen was too far away...
Slyly, Rhyme slid into the nearest room, and put the bowl on a nightstand. The detective was poised to leave when he realized whose room he went into--Kat's, who was currently taking a nap. It looked like she had fallen asleep while doing homework. Smiling deviously, Rhyme tip-toed over to her. He suddenly grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her, yelling in a ridiculously loud tone, "KIRA'S GOING TO KILL US!" His face was one of mock terror, but he was a good enough actor to make it seem genuine.

Kat jumped awake, her math papers flying everywhere. Reflexively, she threw her arm out to hit her attacker in the stomach. Then she realized who it was. She didn't know what he had said, but his face looked scared. "Rhyme?! What's wrong?!" she asked, panicked.

"Kira!" Rhyme exclaimed, trying not to wail from the blow, "He knows our names! He's going to kill us if we don't do something! I don't know how, but Yami just told me, Sai knows my name, yours, too, and he's going to write them down! Oh, God, God, God, oh God."
I actually have her going on this... Hopefully it'll be more than a harmless prank.

Kat frowned. "But Sai... I was sure he wasn't Kira," she said. If it was true, she would be dead anyway, but if it wasn't, she had to keep up the act. She looked really terrified. "What can we do?"

Tears started running down Kat's face. "But..." She was cut off by a sob. "If he were going to kill both of us, why would he stop because of me? If he's already planning to kill me... Then wouldn't that mean he doesn't care?"

Rhyme couldn't help it anymore. He doubled over, laughing. "I, I can't believe you believed me, Kat," he said between giggles, "But, man, I didn't mean to make you cry... Haha!" He flopped onto his old bed, still laughing.

"I was trying to get a good laugh," Rhyme said, smirking, "Freaking you out is a fitting way to say hi." His expression turned as serious as it normally got, and that was on par with a stand up comedian's neutral expression. "I've been getting into some serious things, lately... I'm sorry for getting a laugh at your expense."
