Kat's smile didn't fade. She glanced at the drawer under the stove where the pans went and decided it was best to not bend over to try to get one.

He quickly got a pan out and smiled a bit," Well at least you're craving tacos...and not something strange." He laughed again, rubbing her belly a bit and put the pan on the stove.

"What, like..." Her forehead creased in thought. "I don't know what would constitute as strange." She giggled.

"I don't know...like saltwater and dirt or something, you expect me to know what kind of things pregnant people crave?"

"I'm pretty sure there's never been a pregnant woman who craved dirt," Kat replied, laughing. "The cravings are influenced by the baby, just like emotions. I think it's that if the baby needs more of some vitamin, you crave things with that vitamin. I'm not sure, though."

He shrugged," Like I said don't expect me to know." He laughed again ,"Just hand over your meat unless you want to cook."

Kat's smile touched her lips again and she wrapped her arms protectively around her belly.

Kat sat at the table and looked out the window, suddenly serious. It didn't last long. Soon, she bit her lip. She didn't know enough about this to know if it was the baby, or if she was just emotionally confused. Either way, the baby wasn't helping matters. Silent tears streaked down her face.
