Kat smiled. "Thank you, Sai." She took the book and went to the kitchen table, making sure all the windows were covered before she opened it. She turned immediately to a blank page, took a pen and began writing, bending over the book and obscuring Sai's view of it.

Sighing Sai glanced around, gently tapping his foot waiting on her.

When she finished, Kat tore out the page she'd been writing on. She knew fully well it would still work. She just hoped she had enough time to say what she wanted to. And not too much time, either. She folded the page and slid it into her pocket. Then she walked to Sai's side, brushing her fingertips across his cheek in an extremely intimate touch.

Kat threw her arms around his neck, kissed him swiftly, and started for the door. "I will see you in four days. I cannot risk coming again before then." She looked back at him when she reached the door. "I love you, Sai." And left.
