“You may keep that one, it is a spare I managed to save. However, if you want it to work you must bond your life to it. If you do so and it breaks you will die.” he says then looks to him to be sure he understands.
“Once bonded you will be quick to remember songs you’ve played before, and ones you’ve only heard. How well some work will depend on you, and how strong your bond is.”
He points at a clear gem held in place by a silver band, holding to the neck of the instrument.
“Place a drop of your blood on that gem, it will glow a selected color, determining how it will be best used and sealing the bond.”
