My favorite manga of all time is Houkago Hokenshxtsu / After School Nightmare. It's in the drama/psychological genre and I just think that it's really brilliant, what with all the symbolism and the fact that, while I could predict most manga, I couldn't so much with this. It also deals with so much identity crisis and real world vs. alternate reality that I enjoyed it very much. Mizushiro Setona, the mangaka, is just lovely period. <3
So, TSE, what's your favorite manga ever? >D

My favorite manga so far has to be Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, or When They Cry in English. At first it has the feeling of a slice of life shojo, but it quickly transitions into a dark, intensely psychological story. I still have dreams about tearing my own throat out at night.
Not to mention the art itself is freaking creepy. owo;;;

I can't say at the moment, actually. I've restricted myself from reading fan translations so I can actually be reading NEW manga when I buy it, rather than just stacking up my collection. I've watched anime adaptions of different mangas (Which I plan to read as soon as I can get my hands on them), and I can easily say what my favorite anime is. But I'll need some extra cash before I can actually buy the mangas and figure out what my real favorite is. >> But out of the mangas I have read, Hikaru No Go ranks #1. It's the manga that got me into playing Go (Wequi, Baduk, Igo) and into actually reading manga.

@fox: I have friends that are really into Higu, but more the anime than the manga. If you've seen both, which is better, so I'd know which to choose? And have you played the game? @kaito: I think HNG did a really good job of telling people Go actually exists. ; u; I've only read a few of the books, (though I don't actually play the game), but I like the historical elements and the drama they make out of it. : D Do you follow it in Shonen Jump?

I did for the first little while, back when SJ first started. But when my sister (the one who was actually paying for it) stopped buying, I was then forced to just read it online or buy the manga. (Both of which I have done.)
Also, I've decided that HNG is probably only my fifth favorite manga... My current #1 favorite manga is The World God Only Knows, which is also my favorite anime, strangely enough...

i love the origanal yugioh manga. they also made it an anime, but it's toned down a bit. They only play the card game like five times, and when they do it goes by the first seasons rules of the yugioh you would know (which, btw is mostly a rip off of the origanal whichh only ran for 1 season except they took out all the people dying and added card games tp every episode) and in the manga the very first bad guy stabs himself in the hand

Suki: I would have to say the manga is better. It lets you get terrified at your own pace, and there's something about horror that works better in book/manga form. I haven't played the game, but if I can get my hands on it (legally), I'm definitely going to try it.

@kaito: I would be interested in seeing that. Is the anime or manga better? I've heard the anime is. Gifted: I sense a YGOTAS fan. xD Or at least acknowledger. @fox: I definitely understand where you're coming from with that. I think I'll read the manga if I can ever get a hold of it myself. :3

@kaito: I would be interested in seeing that. Is the anime or manga better? I've heard the anime is. *Just wrote a three-page essay and deleted it all, because it was way too excessive* To shorten things, I think they're both equally awesome. The anime takes a slower pace of things, to strengthen the mood. The manga is way ahead of the current anime. Take your pick, I've caught up with both the anime and manga, and I honestly wouldn't be able to tell you which is better.

I have three catagories that are my favorites: Manga, Fan Translations, and Webcomics. My favorite manga would be Death Note or Hetalia. My favorite Fan Translation of a manga is Dragon Ball GT. The webcomic I LOVE, is Afghanisu-tan.
I also like the anime, Fooly Cooly.
