Crow continued hugging his sister as the police pursued the man. He looked into her eyes and then spoke to her," Are you okay Raven?" These were the only word he could manage to get out. In the background the police had surrounded the man and began taking him into custody but neither of the children could see it.

Raven shook her head. The silent confirmation that, no, she was not okay. She wasn't even close to okay. She sat there, trembling in her brother's arms.

He didn't know what to say but gently held her just a bit tighter than he was before.

Then Raven started hiccuping. For as long as she could remember, Raven had gotten the hiccups after tramatic or unhappy experiences.

Not knowing what to do Crow gently patted her on the back and then spoke to her again," Try holding your breath, that's supposed to help."

Raven nodded, but didn't speak. She took a deep breath, but before she'd held it long she was forced to release it because of another hiccup. She shook her head.

he thought for a second and then said to her," Let's get home maybe there is something there to help you." He gently picked her up and slowly headed toward the house.

Raven struggled in his grip. No matter what had just happened, she still didn't want to go back to that place.

Noticing her struggling he stopped and then spoke to her," What's wrong?...you don't want to go back? Is that why you left the house?" His looked concerned and wondered how he could help and why she left.

He looked at her and then spoke again," You might hate me for this but I'm going to let you go anywhere unless you tell me why...I'll stay out here all night with you unless you tell me." He was still holding her but he sat down on the ground now with his legs crossed.

Raven did her best to glare at him. It wasn't easy considering she was sitting on his lap. She shook her head again, bluntly refusing to answer him.

He nodded his head and then simply said," Okay" He wrapped his arms around her doing his best to keep her warm.

Raven kept her eyes narrowed as she squirmed in his grip. She attempted to wiggle her way down so she could slip her head and shoulders through his arms and escape.

He tightened his grip a little bit and spoke to her as she squirmed," You know everyone's going to worry about you if you're gone."
