Sailor Scouts!

"That's kalamaran!" Kalai shouted, stamping her foot and sticking out her tongue, "I'm obviously not some squid! Nya!" She was too busy throwing a tantrum to realize the necklace had disappeared, but when she did, she figured there were more where that came from. "And of course I've heard of Sailor Pluto! It just makes me grumpy that you've been given the opportunity to imitate her and you're not doing anything with it!"

Kalai cocked her head, and placed a finger on her lip, tapping the wand against her side. "You could at least change your name... I mean, who wants to be named after a cartoon dog? That's just silly!" She heaved an over-dramatic sigh, and placed both hands on her hips. "Well, what're you going to do with me, now that you've cornered me? I really hope we can just go shopping together!" she added, motioning to the shop. A terrified cashier was hiding behind the glass cases, whispering into a cell phone.

"Moon tiara magic!" she said mockingly. "I was just joking, now I'll be serious. Dark Winds Encase!"
A stream of black wind twisted itself like ribbon around Kalai, neutralizing her powers. "Orpheus now!" she shouted. Orpheus took the command and shadow transported kalai to the place where she would be most uncomfortable...the thrift store. When Orpheus returned, Misty told him to go back to his normalish self, she thought she might as well skip school for the rest of the day. She untransformed and walked home, with a black-haired puppy walking behind her.

After waiting several minutes outside, it wasconcluded that there was no fire and they could go back inside. "Odd..." Rachelle muttered to herself. The teacher looked puzzled. But there was no drill scheduled for today..." Rachelle heard her mutter.
Rahelles mind wandered off as she thought about what could have set off the fire alarm. She ignored everything around her for the rest of school as she waited for the bell to ring.

The sprinklers stayed on in the gym, but, other than that, the rest of the day went as normal. Nicky lingered on the school's front lawn after they were dismissed, thinking about her fiery experience with the climbing rope. Had she set off the fire alarm? Biting her lip, she paced back and forth. Somebody must've set it off as a prank, of course...

Kalai stalked out of the thrift store, tossing a small bag of clothes on the ground. She sat down against the storefront, and pouted. How dare she do that to her, that insolent little scout-wannabe! I'm the only true sailor scout! she thought, frowning fiercely.

Rachelle waited patiently util the bell rang, then packed her stuff and continued the almost annoyingly slow walk home. After awhile she passed a cute little store that she always liked to look at as she walked home. Gemz.
She was shocked to see the glass littered everywhere, and the huge hole in the display window. She turned to the girl in front of the shop. "What happened?" she asked in her quiet, frail voice.

Before beginning to pout, Kalai had changed back to her normal self. She was wearing a large, white bow in her long black hair, in addition to black short-shorts, a white tank top, and black sandals. She glanced up at the girl that had spoken to her, still pouting.

"I dunno," she replied plainly, "I just came over and saw this." The still-terrified shopkeeper was outside, explaining what happened to an officer that just arrived. Another police officer was closing off the area with yellow "police line, do not cross" tape.

"Oh," she said. She hesitated a couple seconds too long before moving to sit down beside Kalai. She was silent for a secound or two before saying "You okay?"

Kalai silently wished the girl would go away so that she could snatch a necklace from Gemz.

"I'm fine, yeah," she said. "Just a bit mad... My boyfriend broke up with me," she quickly added. After a moment of thinking, she continued, "He's already seeing another girl, too. I wish I could do something about it, but I don't know her name, or even what she looks like. Humph!"

She kept her facial expression the same for a secound, before taking on a thoughtful expression. "Maybe if you... watched him, or something, you'd know who she is," She supplied helpfully. She waited a second before giving Kalai a small smile.

"Maybe," Kalai replied, nodding. She smiled back at the girl, who seemed genuinely nice. "I'm Kelsey." She offered her hand. "I moved here just recently. I'm going to the school, um, a couple blocks away, I think?"

After the couple second wait she extended her hand and shook Kelsey's hand, making sure she didn't have a very firm grip. "I'm Rachelle," she said. "I just moved here, too. I'm going to the same school as you," she gave a small smile.

She looks kind of slow, Kelsey-Kalai thought, Perfect for me! I can barely understand people that just go blah-blah-blah-blah... Um... What was I thinking about?

"Oh, neat!" she exclaimed, "I hope we have some classes together, because you sure are nice." Kelsey smiled warmly.

After a second or two she replied "Me too," and stopped for a second. then, she turned around. After a second she said. "I should get going, moms expecting me" and waited a secound before starting to walk away.

"Okay..."

Kelsey watched her go. Once she was out of sight, she stood up, and stared at the broken store window. The police were around, so it probably wasn't a good idea to go inside. She sighed, and slid back down to the ground.
