Jane heard them walking towards her. Pushing herself off, she bolted out into the night. The time for spying was over.
The air hissed through his teeth as adrenalin coursed through his veins. He was running, his breath coming in short gasps, as the trees whipped past him. Hurtling over a log he ran past a chain of caves, sending backward glancs over his shoulder when he could. Suddenly an arm came flying from nowhere. It hit the side of his face and sammed his head into the rock wall. Kanon crumpled, hitting the mossy ground in defeat. His father stood over him, glaring down at Kanon with beady eyes. Kanon struggled to push himself up with his hands, but his father kicked him back down. "You're a monster," he growled up at his father. Flipping over, he rolled out from under his father and pushed himself to his feet.
"Kanon, you're going to inherit the sin when you come of age, and you need to learn how to fight with it!"
"I AM of age!" Kanon snapped. "I'm 18! I haven't got the power yet!"
"Becoming legally of age and becoming a man are two very different things!" his father shouted at him.
"I don't even have the power yet! Dad!" he repeated. "And your so-called training sessions have given me a cuncussion twice and killed all pain in my right hand! This isn't training, this is you beating the crap out of me!"
His father took a deep breath. `When you inherit the sin there will eventually be other sins who will rise up. Each sin will have his or her own agenda and you`re going to need to take them all out,"
"But Dad, It's not gonna happen!"
"It is if I say it is!" his father punched him in the face so hard he slammed backwards into the ground again, cutting his head on some rocks. Then he gasped as he felt the energy draining from his body. He gasped for breath as if he'd just run a mile, trying hard not to black out, the world fading in and out of focus. He forced out his final words, before he knew he'd black out. "I don't see how you're power connects with Greed,"
His father faltered, Kanons energy came rushing back. He knew that would work,thats why he said it. but he really didn't get it.
Here's the deal: The sin Greed was in his family for eternity, passed down from father to son. The son got to pick his power. As long as it actually had an ovious connection to Greed, he would get it when he came of age. Kanon had already chosen his power. It had been chosen shortly before Kanon lost feeling in his right hand. well lost the ability to feel pain anyway.
With his strength back Kanon rolled away again, throwing himself to his feet. His hate for his father intensified: he was regularly beaten under this so called traing, but Kanon knew it was just an excuse for his father to be cruel. He went back up close and started throwing punches, his anger growing each time. Hitting his father again and again, blood soaking his hand and a strangled cry choking from his fathers lips. then he pushed his fathers head into the rock and it was over. He'd killed his father.
Suddenly he began to glow with a yellow light. he looked down at his hands, dripping with blood, and gave a shocked smile at the light that came off him before it dissappeared. He'd inherited it. He had it now.

He started walking toward his cave, if she followed him it was her buisiness now, besides he had to give the glutton more food before he got too noisy. He quickly lumbered up the path and looked back one time as he approached the mouth of his cave.

Lust stood there for a while, debating whether to follow him or find somewhere else to stay. She sighed and walked over to the caves, but found her own.

Kanon saw two people walking up and began to panic. What if someone found the body?
Then he decided it didn't matter. If he had the power he was sure he did beating them would be cake if they saw him. And besides... what f these were the sins his father had warned him about?

He had too. Of course. The sins were too dangerous and power hungry to let live.

Wrath walked back into his cave, throwing a large slab of meat to the green beast inside, as is custom whenever he walks in so it doesn't keep him up with its straved roars. The beast inside loudly growled and then devoured the meat in one bite, barely stopping to chew.

Hearing a growl, Kanon shuddered. He decided to test out his power. Grabbing a lighter, he flicked it so the fire would burn and held it to the palm of his hand, clenching his teeth against the pin. he burned himself until he couldn't stand it any longer; he yanked the flame back. Then he held that hand out.
Nothing. What the heck?

The small light from the flame caught Lust's attention and she turned to see a boy who was older than her standing there, the flame now gone. She tilted her head, immediately currious.

Kanon didn't get it. He had the power of greed. The random light sho proved tht. So how come it hadn't worked?
He saw a girl watching him, and was suddenly very concious of the body laying twenty feet away, skull crushed in, partially obscured by trees. Thank goodness there was no longer any blood on his hands... in the literal sense. He smailed at her. "Whats a girl like you doin so far in the woods?"

She had only a moment of indecision. Should she run or get friendly? Get friendly, of course. She smiled back. "Some kid led me out here," she answered, smiling tentatively.

His eyebrows raised "Really? I did hear something just now, perhaps that was them," she smiled. "I'm Kanon by the way," he said, hoping his conversation with this girl would continue to be pleasent so she wouldn't find the body. And maybe, just maybe....
